Snow Day!!!

Today we decided to make the most of all the snow. We went to Emily's school to go sledding!!!

Both kids were bundled up and we got in the car to go. There were quite a few people there as it is a pretty good hill for sledding.

After Jim went down with Emily, then with Jimmy I decided to go down with Emily. As soon as I started down the hill I began to think this was a bad idea. Once I thought it was a bad idea, it became a bad idea. I shifted my weight and we somehow ended up going down the backwards! Then we tumbled sideways into the snow laughing. It was a lot of fun!

The big event was that Emily got up enough courage to go down the hill herself. Upon seeing his sister do it, Jimmy decided to go down himself. They both loved it and went down a few more times alone. On Jimmy's last run, he walked into the path of a sledder in a tube and it flipped him over. The poor girl was distraught, but Jimmy was okay.

We then went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and hot cocoa! It was a wonderful day!

Narnia Ice Palace & Santa!

Upon Jim getting home from work, we piled in the car to head to Short Hills Mall. When we got there, we found that the mall was not as packed on December 23rd as we thought it would be. Then we realized that everyone was. They were waiting in line for Santa....which is right where we were headed!

Since it was an hour plus wait, we decided to go find something to eat. We found Johnny Rockets so we decided to try it. We only waited a few minutes to get seated and we had a pretty good meal. (The milkshakes were REALLY good!)

After eating, we headed back to center court.....there was still an hour plus wait. When all was said and done, we had waited over 2 hours to see Santa. The Narnia exhibit was pretty cool and the "snow" was a big hit with the kids. Oh who am I kidding...I loved it!
The biggest thing was that Jimmy ran right up to Santa and hopped on his lap. Jim & I stood there stunned. We were glad that we had decided to wait for Santa. Plus, the "snow" on their clothes made it cuter!

Make A Wish!

The wishbone from our belated Thanksgiving dinner was finally dry enough to make a wish on.
Emily & Jimmy made a wish and pulled......Emily won!

Just a Little Pinprick....

Today, for her 5th Birthday, Emily got her ears pierced!

I took her to the same place I had mine done over 20 years ago. She was excited, but I wasn't convinced she would actually go through with it. She walked into the store and told the girl what she wanted.

We walked to the piercing station so she could pick out her new earrings. She chose...Hello Kitty! They are really adorable!

Anyway, the girl asked me if I wanted them done at the same time, so I figured it might be a good idea. So, Emily got into the chair, I filled out all the paperwork and the guns were loaded.

It would figure that there was a misfire, but Emily did really well and didn't even flinch. Overall, she loves her new earrings!

Happy Birthday Emily!

Today, our baby girl turned 5! We can't believe that so many years have passed since we brought her home from the hospital.

We decided to have her party on her birthday this year, so we got to celebrate with family and friends.

Pomp and Circumstance....

It seems just like yesterday that I dropped Emily off for her first day of Pre-K...and now its her Graduation Day!

We dropped her off at school and headed into the church to find a seat. The kids filed in and they were oh so cute! They said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang a few songs and got their diplomas!

I'd be lying if I wasn't a little teary eyed as I watched her get her diploma. She has come so far in this year and we couldn't be more proud of her!

After the ceremony, we headed back to get her real diploma and went to her favorite restaurant for lunch!

Start Your Engines....

Today we headed out to Pocono Raceway. It was the day before the Pocono 500 and they were doing a whole bunch of promotions. Michelle had received free tickets to this event and we were happy to attend with her and Laura.

We had so much fun going around to all the demos and taking pictures with a lot of nice cars!
We did eventually make it up to the track and Jimmy thought it was too loud! He did change his mind and became fascinated with the cars.

After a long, hot day at the Raceway, we headed back to Michelle's so the kids could play in the pool and trampoline for a while. They had so much fun!
